[Germany] PhD scholarships in Stochastic Models of Complex Process at TU Berlin
The IRTG Stochastic Models of Complex Processes Berlin-Zurich is offering several scholarships for graduate students in Berlin starting October 2009. Candidates should have obtained (or be about to obtain) a Diploma or M.Sc. degree in mathematics or closely related fields with results significantly above average, and intend to pursue graduate studies in mathematics within the research area of the IRTG. The IRTG offers, besides the opportunity to do supervised research, a rich graduate programme consisting of graduate courses, seminars, and guest lectures. Fellows are required to actively participate in this programme.
Scholarships are tax-free and carry a monthly stipend of € 1203.– plus family allowance.
They are initially awarded for two years, subject to renewal to up to 3 years. All graduate students will be expected to work for a Ph.D. degree at one of the participating universities in Berlin and Potsdam. They are expected to spend 6 months at the partner institutions in Zurich, for which additional financial support will be provided.

International PGT Scholarships - MSc (Eng) or MRes programmes from University of Liverpool
International students who pay tuition fees at the full international rate can receive up to £2,000 in scholarships and awards. All eligible international students will automatically receive a University of Liverpool International Advancement Award worth £1,000. The Faculty of Engineering International PGT Scholarship offers a further £1,000 to each high calibre international student who registers for full-time studies leading towards the award of an MSc (Eng) or MRes degree in the Faculty of Engineering.
Successful applicants for the scholarship will be notified in writing shortly after all transcipts and certificates supporting their application have been received.

At CITY College, we recognize the importance of a quality education and are dedicated to help you find a way to achieve your higher education goals. Every year, CITY offers a number of scholarships to both current and prospective students. The college’s committees and boards assess eligible candidates, based on different criteria for each scholarship such as: level of studies, academic performance, class weighted point, financial status and others. The number and type of the scholarships awarded may vary each year.
Scholarship winners are awarded full or a percentage of tuition fees, or placement scholarships (i.e. internships) depending on the level of the candidates’ achievements and the type of scholarship they are applying for.
Entry Scholarships for Greek prospective students for postgraduate studies
CITY College offers ten a series of scholarships to Greek students who wish to apply for postgraduate studies.
This scholarship programme includes (10) scholarships (50% reduction in tuition fees) for Greek prospective students applying for the following programmes. Two (2) scholarships will be granted for each programme.

CITY College offers fifteen (15) scholarships for new applicants to Bachelors and Masters studies for the academic year 2009-2010. Under this initiative, CITY aims at providing an educational opportunity by supporting tuition of exceptional international students who wish to study at CITY and pursue a globally recognized degree from the University of Sheffield.
Scholarships for Bachelor’s studies
Ten (10) scholarships (20% reduction in tuition fees)

Five (5) scholarships:
• Two (2) placement scholarships (40% reduction in tuition fees and internship) and • Three (3) scholarships (20% reduction in tuition fees)

2. Essay: Applicants will need to submit an essay of approximately 700 words titled: ‘We live in times where lifelong learning is essential to keep up with a changing and dynamic world. How do you think your studies will enhance your personal and professional development? Feel free to describe your future plans and past professional and educational experiences'.

Scholarship for a CITY College Alumnus
The Alumni annual scholarship is an initiative of CITY College in order to help one Bachelor’s graduate to purse postgraduate studies at CITY. The scholarship covers full tuition fee for a full time (1 year) postgraduate course of the candidate’s choice*.
Eligible candidates should be members of the CITY Alumni Association, and should contact the association to apply for the scholarship. The scholarship is awarded to the winner after a lottery selection process.

The Ph.D. Programme Cognitive Science at the University of Osnabrück invites applications for 7 Georg Christoph Lichtenberg Grants for Ph.D. Students.
The Ph.D. Programme Cognitive Science is a curricular Ph.D. programme, associated with the Institute of Cognitive Science and research groups from the Institutes of Informatics and Psychology. It includes research groups in Artificial Intelligence, Computational Linguistics, Neurobiopsychology, Neuroinformatics, Philosophy of Cognition, Knowledge Based Systems, and Differential Psychology.
Overview
The Institute of Cognitive Science at the University of Osnabrück is one of the largest European centres in Cognitive Science, offering degree programmes for BSc, MSc, and PhD in Cognitive Science and carries out research on a broad range of cognitive processes.
We invite applications for the Lichtenberg Ph.D. scholarships from all Cognitive Science areas. Scholarships are € 1400 (plus allowances) per month for a maximum of three years, to start at October 1st, 2009.
The University of Osnabrück strives to increase the number of women in research and teaching. Women are therefore explicitly encouraged to apply.

Academic requirements
Master's degree (or equivalent) in Cognitive Science or a sub-discipline is required. Dissertation proposal
We recommend that you do not send a worked out dissertation proposal with your initial application but only a short description of one or two topics you are interested in. Subsequently we will put you in contact with one of the principal investigators of the programme who will develop a full dissertation proposal with you interactively.

Scholarships
Upon application PhD students can be provided with a three years scholarship of normally 1500 € per month (plus extras). After the first year there is an assessment of the progress of the dissertation project. The continuation of the scholarship in the second and third year depends on the results of the assessment.
There are no study fees for PhD students but only an administration fee of appr. 160 € per semester. Students have to provide proof of health insurance upon registration.

Description: The Frank Knox Memorial Fellowship program provides funding for students from Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the United Kingdom to conduct graduate study at Harvard University. Through in-country competitions, Knox Fellowships are typically awarded to 15 newly admitted students each year, including six from the U.K. and three each from Australia, Canada and New Zealand. Knox Fellowship funding is guaranteed for up to two years of study at Harvard for students in degree programs requiring more than one year of study. There can be as many as 30 Knox Fellows at Harvard in any given year.
